PRP: The Answer to More Youthful Skin

If you’d like to look as young as you feel without going under the knife, consider PRP therapy. Used for decades for other medical purposes, this minimally invasive treatment uses elements of your own blood to stimulate your skin’s natural healing properties to bring about rejuvenation.

Our team of experts at Stellar Skin and Laser in Tempe, Arizona, are pleased to provide PRP treatments for more flawless and younger-looking skin. Here, we share more about PRP for your skin, as well as the benefits it can bring.

How PRP helps your skin

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is created from your own blood. We draw a small amount of your blood before your treatment begins and place it in a centrifuge, which separates out the platelets from other blood components. During your PRP session, your provider reinjects a concentrated solution of platelets into targeted areas of your skin.

Once the PRP has been injected, it helps promote the regeneration of your blood vessels and the production of collagen and elastin. This is important from an anti-aging standpoint, given that lost collagen and elastin associated with the aging process leads to sagging skin, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Gradually, after your treatment, you’ll start to notice a smoother, more vibrant complexion. As an added bonus, PRP can be used on its own or along with other injectable treatments, such as fillers, for maximized and longer-lasting benefits.

Vampire Facelift®️ benefits

One popular PRP treatment we provide is known as a Vampire Facelift. We use PRP to resurface your skin and stimulate collagen production throughout your face, and we inject extra plasma to fill in areas where you need it. In addition to a more youthful look, a Vampire Facelift can help reduce acne scars and stretch marks.

After your treatment, you can expect increased collagen production to start appearing within 30-45 days. You can expect your results to last for months or up to two years.

Making the most of your PRP treatment

While your PRP treatment alone can go far in bringing about a more radiant appearance, taking good care of your skin afterward can help ensure that your results last as long as possible.

Aim to protect your skin from the sun daily by applying a broad spectrum sunscreen and wearing sun-protective clothing. If you like a tanned look, use sunless tanner versus lying in the sun or using a tanning bed. And if you smoke, do your best to quit.

Using appropriate skin care products can also help keep your skin looking as healthy and vibrant as possible. If you’re not sure what products to use, one of our experts can make recommendations after a complimentary skin analysis.
